Pokon Bio Peat-Free Cactus Potting Soil
Pokon Bio Peat-Free Cactus Potting Soil is a ready-to-use, peat-free 5 L mix for common cacti and succulents. Pokon lists coco coir, green compost, wood fibre, sand and fertiliser as its ingredients, with an initial nutrient charge of about 100 days.
The current Pokon formula
The current peat-free formulation contains NPK 10-4-4 fertiliser. The sand-containing mix is intended for pot-grown cacti and succulents that need an open, well-drained root zone.
Potting and watering
Use a clean pot with drainage holes. Keep the plant crown at its appropriate height, firm the mix gently, and water according to the species and condition of the roots. Let excess water escape and do not leave the pot standing in water.
After the initial nutrient charge
Pokon advises supplementing nutrition after approximately 100 days. Feed only when the plant is actively growing and use a cactus-compatible fertiliser at its labelled strength. Specialist Lithops and Pleiospilos may need a leaner mineral mix.
