Aroid Potting Mix
Aroid Potting Mix is designed for plants with roots that benefit from air and structure. It suits many climbing or trailing aroids grown in pots, on poles or in hanging containers.
What you get
- Chunky structure: keeps larger air pockets around roots
- Bark-led airflow: supports thick aroid roots
- Coco coir base: keeps some moisture contact
- Mineral stability: helps the mix resist compaction
In use
Water thoroughly so all ingredients rehydrate, then let excess drain. The top may dry before the middle, so judge moisture by pot weight, root-zone checks or a suitable moisture tool.
How to blend it
Fine-rooted plants and small plugs often need closer contact than this mix provides. Use a softer substrate for those until the root system is stronger.
Potting established aroids
Use this ready-made mix for aroids with established roots. Choose a pot that fits the root mass and settle the chunky particles gently around the roots. After watering, check moisture below the surface before watering again.
Before you order
- Moisten dry components before potting so the mix settles evenly.
- Choose pot size for the root ball, not for the top growth.
- Top-dress with the same mix to reduce surface compaction.
